Privacy policy
fami is a personal, single-user setup operated by Granite Bagas ("I"). It connects my own Google accounts to AI agents that I run on my own computer. This policy explains which Google user data fami accesses and what happens to it.
Data fami accesses
When an account is connected, fami asks Google for these read-only permissions:
- Gmail, read-only (
gmail.readonly): search and read messages and threads, and list labels. - Google Calendar, read-only (
calendar.readonly): list calendars and events. - Google Drive, read-only (
drive.readonly): search files and read their metadata. - Google Docs, read-only (
documents.readonly): read the text of documents. - Google Sheets, read-only (
spreadsheets.readonly): read cell values. - Basic sign-in information (
openid, email): the account's email address, to tell connected accounts apart.
fami cannot send, change or delete anything in a Google account.
How the data is used
Data is fetched only when I ask one of my AI agents a question that needs it, for example "what meetings do I have today?". The agent reads the relevant emails, events or files through fami and uses them to answer that request. fami does not fetch data in the background, build profiles, or use the data for advertising.
Where the data goes
- On my computer. fami has no server. The OAuth tokens that grant access are stored in the macOS Keychain on my computer.
- To the AI model provider I use. To answer a request, the retrieved content is sent to the AI model behind the agent I am using, such as Anthropic (Claude) or OpenAI. That provider processes it under its own terms and privacy policy, and the agent may keep the conversation in its local history according to its own settings.
- Nowhere else. Google user data is not sold, rented or shared with anyone else, and is not used to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
Google API Services User Data Policy
fami's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Retention and deletion
fami keeps no copy of email, calendar or Drive content. Tokens remain in the Keychain until access is revoked. To remove fami's access to an account at any time:
- open Google Account → Third-party apps & services and remove fami, or
- run
gog auth remove <email>on the computer where fami is set up.
Who can use fami
fami is not offered to the public. Only Google accounts that belong to me are connected to it.
